Duties
As a/an Information Technology Specialist, you will:
Advise and collaborate with IT managers and program managers on approaches to accomplishing IT goals that often involve significant changes in approach or technology.
Analyze and define requirements and specifications for complex data, systems, applications and processes.
Conduct feasibility and cost-benefit analyses to ensure that investments in new systems, hardware, and applications are worthwhile.
Ensure the integration of IT programs and services and develops solutions to integration and/or
interoperability issues.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-13 grade level is defined as one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal service, which is directly related to the position, and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as
- Management of analytic data projects; OR
- Software development and/or implementation projects involving the real-time collection and analysis of large data sets.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
