You will serve as a GENERAL ENGINEER in the Guided-Missile Frigate (FFG) Program Office (PMS 515) within the Program Executive Office (PEO) Unmanned & Small Combatants (USC) of PEO UNMANNED AND SMALL COMBATANTS. You will assist with acquisition responsibility and management accountability for PMS 501 (LCS Sea Frames), PMS 505 (Fleet Introduction), PMS 515 (Frigate), PMS 525 (International LCS), PMS 406 (Unmanned Maritime Systems), PMS 420 (LCS Mission Modules), and PMS 495 (Mine Warfare).

Duties

You will lead and manage the Constellation Class Frigate Production team?s tasking, establishing priorities, scheduling projects, planning, budgeting, and allocating resources accordingly, and tracking execution to completion. You will serve as primary production representative within the Program Office for lead ship (FFG 62) and class-wide production-related matters. You will coordinate PMS 515?s overall EVM, progress tracking, and integrated scheduling efforts with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and SEA 05C, performing analyses and assessments as required. You will support program level processes including digital engineering transformation, configuration management, contract execution/modification/change. You will also support supply chain oversight, risk management, transition from the shipbuilder?s design to production activities, stage testing and ship trials, and delivery and fleet introduction. You will represent the Production team in program and readiness reviews with the prime contractor and engagements with various stakeholders, including leaders in the PEO, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, and Industry teams. You will interface with counterparts in other functional areas of program management and the technical community to ensure requirements of the prime contract are met.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer leading projects to coordinate the design, integration, development, test, certification, or delivery of boats, service craft, ships or related components. Education

Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.
