The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC) serves as the Army's technology leader for armament systems. DEVCOM AC ensures dominance of Army capabilities by researching, developing, integrating and delivering technology-enabled armament solutions to our Warfighters. Armaments Center has a long tradition as the primary research and development center for new and existing armament systems which are in use by U.S. service members around the world.

Duties

Direct accomplishment of highly complex mission-critical armament programs with significant impact on national defense capability to further organizational mission. Track progress of organizational performance to justify significant changes in staffing, equipment/facilities, and processes. Lead a largely support team to meet customer deliverables both internal and external to the directorate. 1 = Position Description Organizes work to sets priorities and determines resource requirements to accomplish short and long-term goals in conjunction with other organizations and monitors progress and evaluates outcomes. Supervise a group of well-trained specialty areas to align senior subject matter experts' mentors with early- and mid-career analysts to maintain competencies required for the directorate to meet its mission.

Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: 1. Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1, or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions. 2.
