This position is located in the Office of the Secretary, Hearings and Information Division.
Duties
Directs the activities of the Hearings and Information Division. Plans, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates. Assigns work to subordinates based upon priorities, requirements- of assignments, capabilities of subordinates, and availability of resources. Determines training requirements and personally accomplishes or identifies training sources. Evaluates performance of subordinates. Recommends and develops documentation for promotions, reassignments, and recognition of performance.
Manage the hybrid hearings and meetings process, records management, and the processing of Commission notices and opinions.
Work directly with Commission management in setting agendas, and developing opening statements for hearings and meetings.
Manage the preparation of the official minutes of the Commission and post all Sunshine Act notices.
Have primary responsibility in all investigative based Commission meetings and hearings, including all associated activities.
Maintain official records of the Commission, which includes petitions, briefs and other legal documents, manage official Secretary correspondence, and manage the day to day operations of the Freedom of Information Act program.

BASIC REQUIREMENT
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 obtained in the federal or private sector which demonstrates all of the following: knowledge of the rules of procedures for formal hybrid meetings, including the swearing in of witnesses; determining official record requirements of hearings, and maintenance of official records and notices associated with the same; advanced oral and written communication skills; and, the ability to perform Freedom of Information and Government in Sunshine Act requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
