About the Position: The mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army's Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance. We provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.
Duties
Respond to rework calls and determine the cause of Aircraft mechanical components malfunction recommending appropriate rework to correct the problem
Disassemble components to point of malfunction in order to perform the rework necessary for restoring the item to operable condition.
Make adjustments to various aircraft mechanical components to assure the serviceability of the components are within required specifications.
Remove nicks, burrs scratches, or other indications of excessive wear or damage by hand sanding or using the machine method to rework various Aircraft Mechanical components.
Utilize a wide range of shop machinery to properly determine extent of re-work in order to meet mission accomplishment.
Perform disassembly and assembly practices to properly diagnose aircraft mechanical components to meet mission requirement.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Aircraft Mechanical Parts Repairer without more than normal supervision. Resumes will be reviewed for experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge to disassemble, evaluate, assemble, test, and balance mechanical components. Eperience performing repairs on a variety of aircraft mechanical components, use of measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicator, gauges, and/or torque wrenches. Experience with inspecting, reworking, repairing, and balance to some aircraft mechanical components. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Requires long periods of standing, and/or sitting and reaching. Frequently handles items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a clean, well-lighted, ventilated shop area. Exposed to moving machinery, solvents, oil, and grease. Subject to noise from test stand operation. Required wearing safety glasses and shoes; also, gloves, respirators, and hearing protection when appropriate. Working conditions considered in the evaluation of the work.
