This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Office of Foreign Assets Control, OFAC. As a Senior Advisor, you will be advising on, and participating in, the decision-making process concerning highly sensitive and complex OFAC cases and operations.

Duties

As a Senior Advisor, you will: Conduct special studies and projects and serve as coordinator of OFAC employees in the preparation of papers or reports required by the Director pertaining to sanctions programs administered by OFAC. Represent the Director at interagency meetings, meetings with foreign officials, and private sector engagements to advance OFAC's mission. Determine or recommend to the Director new or amended policies, regulations, or operational procedures required to enhance the administration of sanctions programs.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in ALL of the following: Representing an agency or organization in discussions with leaders of other entities on sanctions or illicit financial issues; AND Advising senior leaders on economic, financial, or regulatory matters relevant to economic and trade discussions; AND Ability to evaluate current and proposed policies and programs, identify problems or areas that need improvement, and recommend solutions/changes for improved operational effectiveness and efficiency.
