About the Position: This position serves as a Data Entry Technician (OA) for a Forensic Toxicology Drug Testing Lab Processing Section.
Duties
Identify, collect, document, preserve, and transport evidence to ensure integrity for forensic analysis and judicial proceedings.
Enter, upload, maintain, review, and/or update health care records (e.g., patient data, patient identifiers).
Knowledge of tools and techniques used in data recovery and preservation of electronic evidence.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must complete a certification program provided by the agency within 6 months of appointment.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Performing data entry using office automation; 2) Reviewing reports to ensure accuracy of data. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
