As a Procurement Technician at the GS-1106-7 you will be part of Acquisition Services Division (ASD), Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). If selected, you will be responsible for serving as a procurement technician, providing administrative and technical support to higher grade contract specialists and procurement analyst in the Acquisition Services Division.

Duties

Serve as the point of contact for reports, contract closeouts, and contract monitoring for the organization. Support the management of the procurement of supplies, services, and construction for the organization. Provide support to help manage contract operations for the organization. Analyze procurement management documents and reports for accuracy. Assists contract specialists in preparing solicitations (i.e. invitation for bid RFQ, request for proposal (RFP), request for quotation (RFQ), for purchases.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period

Qualifications

To Qualify for the GS-7: You must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the Federal Service, that is directly related to the work of the position and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties as a Procurement Technician. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to performing procurement/contracting support work required to provide a full range of procurement support related to recurring or standardized buys for commonly used supplies or services; experience with automated databases to input standard information or adjustments and experience reading and interpreting procurement regulations and technical material, and translating the guidance into specific actions, e.g., assisting in the preparing of solicitation documents. Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-6 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-7 level. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
