This position is located within Nursing Service. supports the Perioperative, Inpatient, Emergent and Specialty Nurse Managers
working under the general supervision of the Chief, Emergent, Transitional, and Mental Health Service and functions independently. Responsible for performing clerical, timekeeping, and technical work supporting management analysis and program analysis. Also, responsible for developing work assignments, priorities, and internal systems for managing office operations.
Duties
The incumbent must be skilled in multi-tasking and competing demands of Nursing Service. The incumbent performs clerical and technical work in support of management analysis and/or program analysis. The purpose of the work is to analyze, evaluate, and improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity of the Sections and to provide Managers with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and operational aspects of management and program operations. These administrative and operational aspects include Service functions, objectives and goals, processes, products, services, performance requirements, projects and resources.
Duties include and are not limited to:
Maintains, gathers, and compile records of organizational and workflow charts, staffing levels, program resource used and availability, and internal audit reports.
Reviews performance and management indicator reports, suggestions for program improvements, and other similar management and program analysis documents.
Screens memos and correspondence and processes materials and distributes to staff.
Initiates any response for correspondence, forms, congressional inquiries, and reports.
Gathers data to assist in completing assignments, identifying problems from existing databases, guidelines, previous caseloads and assignments.
Processes personnel actions associated with initial appointments, promotions, retirements and
resignations.
Tracks licensure and maintains accurate folders for the Service s containing current information pertaining to licenses, certificates and ACLS/BLS certification.
Word processes documents including letters, memos, abstracts, manuscripts, application forms, slides, and Power Point.
Researches and assembles background information. Prepares reports, memorandums and correspondence ensuring accuracy of information, proper formats, grammar and punctuation.
Maintains computer and hard copy files and disposes of obsolete files in accordance with directives.
Ensures that necessary changes, amendments, deletions, and recessions are accurately and timely posted.
Functions as the Patient Care Services Record Liaison.
Completes minutes for assigned committees, meetings and conference calls following-up on matters that need clarification. Develops tracker for action/suspense items.
Serves as a timekeeper, prepares, maintains, corrects and submits official time and attendance records.
Responsible for accurately setting up, posting, and maintaining time and leave records.
Serves as backup ADPAC, troubleshoots and diagnoses software and hardware problems and User problems/concerns and attempts to resolve the difficulty.
Serves as a liaison between staff and OI&T.
Requests user access codes and menu requirements and trains employees in the use of their VISTA packages.
Assists new employees with PIV cards for access; assists employees and provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for email encryption issues.
Maintain general knowledge and familiarity of the hardware and communication components of PCs and terminals including PC software such as the operating system, Windows, and applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and Outlook).

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/07/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary but requires some walking, standing, bending, climbing and carrying of light items such as papers and files. Long periods of sitting and using a computer screen and keyboard.
The work is performed in an office setting and includes the everyday risks and discomforts typical of offices and meeting rooms. Simultaneous use of phone and computer.
