As a Supervisory NBE/BE (Climate Risk) in the Office of Climate Risk (OCR), you will provide advice on the full range of policy functions and actions pertaining to climate-related financial risks (CRFRs), as well as, supervise staff and direct the necessary resources to carry out programs and functions. Although Washington, DC is the preferred location, an Alternate Location Arrangement will be considered.

Duties

As a Supervisory National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Climate Risk), you will: Serve as an expert advisor to the Chief Climate Risk Officer (CCRO). Collaborate, Communicate, and coordinate responses to identify primary and emerging climate risks. Interpret and formulate policies, procedures and represents the agency externally and internally on systemic risk issues. Provide advice and policy interpretation to examiners and other OCC staff on climate-related financial risks (CRFRs) to the banking industry to CCRO, the National Climate Risk Implementation Committee and others with in the agency about such risks. Serve as liaison to OCC senior management, headquarter units, field staff, other governmental agencies, and the banking industry. This includes leading the response to inquiries from Congress or financial industry trade associations and may include managing the support to a subject matter expert on interagency working groups or task forces related to climate risk situations. Serve as a technical advisor on policy activities in the CRFR area and on OCC supervised institutions' overall compliance with appropriate laws and regulations related to supervision risk activities, especially with respect to the most challenging large and midsize financial institutions. Lead, motivate, and develop a staff with a high level of technical expertise. Create a performance-based work environment and ensure that effective strategies are in place to build and maintain the analytical expertise needed to fulfill OCC's policy responsibilities.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Researching and analyzing climate-related financial risks to recommend new or improvements to policies and procedures; OR Serving as an advisor or consultant on climate-related financial risks issues. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
