This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education. As a IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) you will be responsible for performing work involving the performance of routine and recurring assignments supporting IT systems administration independently or in support of the work of a more senior specialist. You may also develop system administration requirements and specifications.
Duties
As a IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) GS-2210-7/9/11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Administrates, troubleshoots and maintains enterprise-wide systems and server functions.
Serves as point of contact for the university's educational and administrative enterprise-wide platforms including the Learning Management System (LMS), Student Information System(SIS), domain cloud environment, card access control system, server configuration and support for closed, restricted networks, and system administration of internal resource mobile device apps.
Monitors and troubleshoots IT systems availability.
Consults with customers to identify priorities and best approaches for integrating systems administration requirements into daily operations.
Develops standard operating procedures for a variety of IT hardware tasks or activities.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
Basic Requirements
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Education:
GS-7: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement
GS-9: master's degree or equivalent graduate degree -or-2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -or- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

Experience
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Specialized Experience for GS-7 and Above: Positions at GS-7 and above require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled, as shown below:
GS-7: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: configures and supports RAID configurations to successfully install and update Windows server operating systems, establishes method to successfully perform enterprise-wide and local data backups, troubleshoots server and domain services issues; develops, creates, and assigns user access permissions to shared files and folders to ensure data security and accessibility in a domain environment; applies proper configuration of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN settings; and creates, administers, and maintains Office 365 accounts, authentication procedures, and access to applications.
GS-9: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: installs and configures enterprise-wide business and education software applications to successfully run programs and ensure accessibility between databases and the end user, oversees the planning and implementation of system and software upgrades, and meets with stakeholders to discuss emerging technologies, determine compatibility, and provide alternatives if necessary, taking into consideration cost-analysis and the improvement of system and software performance.
GS-11: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: communicates and provides documentation to administration, stakeholders, and contractors when troubleshooting, developing, and distributing status reports, system integration plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs); and administers and maintains Microsoft Azure domain environment and cloud services including InTune management, system imaging, user accounts, network printer management, online form development, virtual machine configuration, data storage, and other services.
GS-12: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes: troubleshooting and managing education cloud platforms such as Learning Management Systems and Student Information Systems, and providing support for enterprise-wide card access systems, closed/restricted networks, and web/mobile apps.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.

EDUCATION: If qualifying based on education, transcripts
