Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary (OS); Assistant Secretary-Policy, Management, and Budget; Deputy Assistant Secretary-Human Capital and Diversity; Office of Human Capital; Strategic Talent Management Division in Washington DC.
At the full performance level GS-14 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Plans, coordinates, and participates in recruitment and hiring events.
2) Provides consultation on recruitment strategies.
3) Advises others on sourcing candidates for vacancies.
4) Determines areas of programmatic, procedural, and policy deficiencies and provides recommendations to improve talent sourcing, recruitment, and hiring outcomes.
5) Coordinates and consults with stakeholders, including senior management officials, hiring managers, HR professionals, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders to ensure success in recruitment programs and events.
6) Represents the Department at recruitment and hiring events.
7) Conducts outreach activities to educate prospective applicants about career opportunities.
The Office of the Secretary has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the incumbent may telework with supervisory approval.
DC Salary Information (Per Annum)
GS-14: $132,368 - $172,075
NOTE: A recruitment incentive may be authorized at the discretion of the hiring manager.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience.
To qualify for the GS-14, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) planning and participating in recruitment or hiring events; 2) advising others on sourcing candidates for vacancies; AND 3) developing recruitment and outreach strategies to support agency- or sub-agency wide recruitment efforts.
