This position is located at the United States Mint at Philadelphia. As a DEPUTY PLANT MANAGER (DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT), you will have 11 senior managers reporting to you and will be responsible for the 24/5 manufacturing operations of a Mint with over 400 employees. The senior managers reporting to you lead the following Divisions: Safety, Quality, Coin Production, Die Production, Finance, Distribution and Logistics, Production Maintenance, Facilities Management and Apprenticeship Certification
Duties
As a/an DEPUTY PLANT MANAGER (DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT), you will:
Direct and prioritize all production-related actions for Circulating coining performed within the Plant.
Authorize the production of United States Mint Numismatic products.
Direct die manufacturing serving multiple Mint locations.
Coordinate, plan, and schedule the production of United States Mint products.
Support an integrated automated manufacturing information system throughout United States Mint operations.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience:
For the GS-15, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Overseeing and directing multiple subordinate managers and supervisors as part of regularly assigned duties while working in a high volume manufacturing facility and ensuring customer satisfaction and organizational goals are met; AND
Manager level experience enforcing, promoting, monitoring and developing a safe work environment ensuring compliance with all laws relating to environment, health and safety; AND
Managing and authorizing a budget and expenditures within a manufacturing environment; AND
Recommending, supporting and implementing Lean Manufacturing and other continuous process improvement plans that resulted in more efficient manufacturing processes and equipment; AND
Manager level experience identifying and implementing business improvement opportunities within a manufacturing environment.
???????In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14level for 52 weeks.
