Duties

This position is located in the Office of Enforcement - Division of Audits and Accounting. The Office of Enforcement serves the public interest by ensuring effective regulations and protecting customers through understanding markets and their regulation, timely identifying and remedying market problems, assuring compliance with Commission rules and regulations, and detecting and crafting remedies to address market manipulation and other non-compliance issues.

Requirements

• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• A background investigation is required.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service.

To view the eligibility and qualification requirements of an EIA GS-1101, please visit:  EIA You can qualify based on your education OR one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience that shows familiarity or an understanding of (1) Regional Transmission Organizations (RTO)/Independent System Operators (ISO) operations, (2) transmission operations under an Open Access Transmission Tariff outside of an RTO/ISO, and/or (3) energy trading functions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.
