This is a temporary appointment. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status and will be for a period not-to-exceed 1039 hours in a service year.
Duties
This position serves as an Administrative Support Assistant with a District or Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management.
The incumbent will independently perform a wide variety of administrative support functions related to natural resources, such as correspondence, records, mail processing, filing, and public contact.
Incumbent will provide general information concerning office operations to the public both orally and in writing.
Incumbent will organize and maintain electronic filing system.
Incumbent will provide administrative assistance in the completion of records reviews, inventories, and dispositions.
May perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to timekeeping, travel document preparation, procurement, and staffing of front desk.
Requirements

GS-04 - 1 year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of an administrative support assistant. - OR - successful completion of two years of higher education above high school. - OR - A combination of experience and education to meet total experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands / Work Environment: Work is performed primarily in an office setting. Individuals should be capable of working alone, or with other people, during early morning hours, evening hours, or during the day.
