The Medical Support Assistant (OA) will provide administrative support in clerical duties associated with patient care and office operations for the Radiology Department of the Clinton Service Unit. The position will report to the Supervisory Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist.

Duties
Provide clerical support to the assigned department within the Clinton Service Unit.
Organize work assignments to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks while maintaining confidentiality.
Use manual, electronic, and automated systems to perform a variety of assigned tasks in support of the department.
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure all contacts receive proper resolution to their problems in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Applicants must meet the following typing proficiency:
40 words per minute based on a five-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-03: Applicant must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-03 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least six (6) months of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-03; OR
One (1) year of education above the high school level; OR
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-03 grade level.
GS-04: Applicant must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-04 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-04; OR
Two (2) years of education above the high school level; OR
A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-04.
GS-05: Applicant must meet one of the following minimum requirements to meet the GS-05 level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: providing patient registration and eligibility services information, interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources, private and commercial insurance; OR
Four (4) years of education above the high school level; OR
A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 are also qualifying. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
Typing Proficiency: The typing proficiency requires applicants to type 40 words per minute based on a five-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements at the GS-05 grade level: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
Education
