This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

VA Careers - Pharmacy: https://youtube.com/embed/Fn_ickNBEws This position functions ln Pharmacy Service to support timely access to quality health care for our Veterans at the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS). As Program Manager - ADPAC, pharmacist is responsible for the assessment, design, integration, modification, maintenance and analysis of data, data management services and computerized provider order entry of medications for Pharmacy Service. Major Duties includes: Provides administrative, technical, and analytical support to the Chief of Pharmacy, Associate Chiefs of Pharmacy, Supervisory Clinical Pharmacist Pharmacoeconomics/Procurement/Automation Section and appropriate facility committees. Incumbent may also provide support to VISN level committees as assigned. Gathers and interprets data about Pharmacy and other Clinical to include workload, drug costs, drug cost per unique patient, cost-savings initiatives, SAIL data, and other pharmacy related efficiency measures. Works effectively with the VISN Pharmacy Information Specialists, Academic Detailing, Pharmacy Informatics Program Manager and Pharmacy Administration to develop and maintain electronic tools such as clinical decision support and pharmacy order menus/order sets to meet the needs of the facility. Provides detailed formats, documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and other information necessary to accomplish Pharmacy's goals and objectives including education to front line providers on the developed tools. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with the planning, preparation, implementation, training and support of service software packages and automation. Works with the Clinical Application Coordinators to streamline quick orders, order sets, medical record flags, and other template sets to facilitate appropriate medication prescribing and processing as directed. Researches and identifies evidence -based best practices in developing medication management ordering algorithms. Responds to various surveys/alerts for the medical center. Attends committee meetings at the VISN and local facility as assigned. Utilizes SOL, Power Bi, Visual Basic, Power Automate, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite to improve reporting and efficiency of pharmacy service. Assists in coordination of installation of new equipment and acquisitions of technology for pharmacy service. Perform other duties assigned. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Citizen of the United States (U.S.). (Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified candidates in accordance with 38 U.S.C. ? 7407(a)). Education. (a) Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. OR (b) Graduates of foreign pharmacy degree programs meet the educational requirement if the graduate is able to provide proof of achieving the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification, which includes passing the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) and the Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test (TOEFL iBT). Licensure. Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registration if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. A pharmacist who has, or has ever had, any license(s) revoked, suspended, denied, restricted, limited, or issued/placed in a probationary status may be appointed only in accordance with the provisions in VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, section B, paragraph 16. NOTE: Individuals who have or have had multiple licenses and had any such license revoked for professional misconduct, professional incompetence or substandard care, or who surrendered such license after receiving written notice of potential termination of such license by the State for professional misconduct, professional incompetence, or substandard care, are not eligible for appointment to the position unless such revoked or surrendered license is fully restored (38 U.S.C. ? 7402(f)). Effective November 30, 1999, this is a requirement for employment. This requirement does not apply to licensed pharmacists on VA rolls as of that date, provided they maintain continuous appointment and are not disqualified for employment by any subsequent revocations or voluntary surrenders of State license, registration or certification. Loss of Licensure or Certification. Once licensed or certified, pharmacist must maintain a full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia. The pharmacist must maintain current registration if this is a requirement for maintaining full, current, and unrestricted licensure. Loss of licensure or certification will result in removal from the GS-0660 clinical pharmacist series and may result in termination of employment. English Language Proficiency. The Pharmacist (Facility Program Manager) must be proficient in spoken and written English, as required by 38 U.S.C. ? 7403(f). Preferred Experience: 1) Demonstrates knowledge and competence in writing code for databasing languages and can organize the data in a usable format. 2) Demonstrate ability to retrieve data from automated systems to usable formats and build reports. Incumbent must be well versed in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, and Power Bi. 3) Experienced in a variety of applications to organize and automate tasks such as macros, Power Apps, and Power Automate. Grade Determinations: Pharmacist (Facility Program Manager), GS-13 Experience. One year of creditable experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs in his/her resume: Ability to communicate orally and in writing to persuade and influence clinical and management decisions. Expert understanding of regulatory and quality standards for their program area. Ability to solve problems, coordinate and organize responsibilities to maximize outcomes in their program area or area of clinical expertise. Expert knowledge of a specialized area of clinical pharmacy practice or specialty area of pharmacy. Advanced skill in monitoring and assessing the outcome of drug therapies, including physical assessment and interpretation of laboratory and other diagnostic parameters. References: VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G15 Licensed Pharmacist Qualification Standards The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13. Physical Requirements: Work may involve prolonged standing and/or walking. Work involves lifting of weights up to 40 pounds. Incumbent will be subject to bending and stooping. Transportation of goods to and from pharmacy will be required. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).
