This position is located in the Office of the Chair at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.  The Executive Assistant performs a variety of important executive administrative duties to support the Chair, who is the Chief Administrative Officer for the agency in fulfilling their official obligations and responsibilities under the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).

Duties

If selected for this position you will serve as an Executive Assistant to the Chair performing a variety of important executive administrative assistant duties to support the Chair and those in the Office of the Chair in fulfilling their official obligations and responsibilities under the Commodity Exchange Act (CEA).

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE CT-11 LEVEL  Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR Three (3) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR One (1) year of specialized experience at the CT/GS-09 grade level or equivalent; OR   A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position. Examples of specialized experience equivalent to the CT/GS-09 level includes performing administrative functions such as; 1) Arranging and scheduling meetings, preparing briefing memos, talking points, presentations, and/or reports to senior executives; AND  2) Managing office travel to include experience coordinating and resolving routine travel issues; AND 3) Maintain a schedule for the Executive to include travel, meetings, appointments; AND 4) Experience responding to administrative issues and/or inquiries to resolve a variety of conflicts regarding organizational policies or processes. TO QUALIFY AT THE CT-12 LEVEL, applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience at the CT/GS-11 grade level or equivalent.   Examples of specialized experience equivalent to the CT/GS-11 level include that through which one has gained thorough knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in the administrative field and the operations of large offices sufficient to: (1) Work independently with a high degree of tact and diplomacy to provide direct administrative support to a Senior Executive Service (SES) level (or equivalent) position; AND (2) Conduct research projects/studies on a wide variety of administrative and operational matters and make recommendations on process improvements; AND  (3) Prepare materials for briefings and other presentations (slides, charts, graphs etc.) including correspondence on behalf of the Executive.
