You will serve as a CLINICAL COUNSELOR in the COUNSELING and ADVOCACY PROGRAM of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY BETHESDA.
Duties
You will identify crisis situations (e.g., suicidal or homicide risk, danger of physical or sexual abuse to family members, increased risk of further family
violence) through clinical assessment to provide crisis intervention and safety planning.
You will administer mental health services (e.g., crisis intervention, intake interviews, assessment, clinical counseling) to individuals, groups, couples, and
offenders of domestic violence and child abuse or neglect.
You will perform ongoing case management services to assess service and family member needs, confirm follow-through with treatment
recommendations, or to provide additional resources referrals.

Qualifications
***This position has a selective placement factor. This position is a TIER THREE clinical care provider. Applicants must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A:1. 1. Successful candidates for this position shall meet all qualifications as outlined below: A. State/ U.S. Territory licensure or State/U.S. Territory certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner. B. When the State/U.S. Territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates must have achieved a passing score on that examination. C. Possess at least a masters degree in one of the following social work or counseling fields: i. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or ii. Satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. D. Have engaged in 2 years (which includes at least 2000 hours) full-time, post-Masters supervised clinical experience .E. 2 years of specialized experience in domestic abuse and child abuse counseling or treatment. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Identifying personal and social problems to independently reach accurate conclusions and to provide appropriate solutions; 2) Clinically responding to the needs of the clients including assessing suicidal/homicidal situations and domestic and child abuse situations; and 3) Documenting psycho-social assessments, treatment plans, and case review committee reports.

Education
Successful completion of a PH. D or equivalent doctoral degree
