This position provides dental reception and administrative support to the medical staff within the Dental Department of the Wewoka Service Unit. The incumbent will perform a variety of clerical duties associated with patient care. The position reports to the Chief Dentist.

Duties
Provide clerical support to the dental department.
Organize work assignments to effectively and efficiently complete assigned tasks while maintaining confidentiality.
Use manual, electronic and automated systems to perform a variety of assigned tasks in support of the department.
Provide exceptional customer service to ensure all contacts receive proper resolution to their problems in a courteous and professional manner.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-4: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates your ability to perform the work of this position at the GS-4 level.
OR Two years of education above the high school level.
OR A combination of education and general experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: providing patient registration and eligibility services information, interacting with patients to obtain and process demographic and insurance information for alternate resources, private and commercial insurance.
OR Four years of education beyond the high school level.
OR Equivalent combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience are also qualifying. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement.
GS-6: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: organizing patient records, extracting medical information and reviewing records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with medical facility requirements; recording data involving patient appointments, admissions and discharge/transfer information using the medical facility's automated and/or manual medical records system; and responding to changing priorities that frequently depend on the urgency of the situation.
Typing Proficiency: The typing proficiency requires applicants to type 40 words per minute based on a five minute sample with three or fewer errors
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
