This position is located in Imaging Service at the Iowa City VA Health Care System in Iowa City, IA. performing administrative duties directly contributing to the management of a health care delivery system.
Duties

Major duties and responsibilities include:
Aides in the development of detailed plans, goals, and objectives for daily operations and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness;
Recommends improvements for databases, statistical analysis, and more efficient reporting methods;
Assists in evaluating procedures, workflow, personnel utilization, organization, communications, training and arrangement of space and equipment;
Identifies issues, gathers relevant data, and recommends ideas for improvement and evaluates efficacy of improvements;
Drafts and/or reviews all contract proposals and agreements to assure accurate budgetary, personnel, and administrative arrangements;
Performs regular audits of operations to ensure compliance;
Utilizes unique skill set to define, measure, analyze, improve, and recommend changes;
Assists in drafting and developing performance standards and performance pay criteria;
Drafts new service line policies;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must meet one of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized Experience: Administrative management experience aiding in the development of detailed plans, goals, and objectives for daily operations and developing criteria for evaluating program effectiveness, drafting and/or reviewing contract proposals and agreements to assure accurate budgetary and personnel arrangements; recommending improvements for databases, statistical analysis, and more efficient reporting methods; and assisting in evaluating procedures, workflow, personnel utilization, organization, communications, training and arrangement of space and equipment.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR at least three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: Transcripts (official or unofficial) are required with application.
OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: An equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above. NOTE: Transcripts (official or unofficial) are required with application.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates.
