Duties
As a Senior Loan Guarantee Specialist, you will:
- Develop policies, program standards, procedures and guidelines in response to the unique problems and issues in Indian, Alaskan Native areas and Hawaiian homelands.
- Initiate and prepare comprehensive policy documents that recommend statutory changes to affect the Indian housing and loan guarantee programs and comments on pending legislation, regulations, and guidelines prepared by other offices.
- Formulate guidelines and provide technical advice, guidance, and interpretation of complex policies and procedures regarding the Indian loan guarantee programs to Tribes/TDHEs, Headquarters, field offices, tribal groups, Native Hawaiian groups and the financial community. Coordinates with the other Federal agencies (Interior, HHS, Agricultural, EPA).
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To be qualified for this position at the GS-14 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent. The experience must be related to the position as listed in this announcement and equip the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully.
Specialized experience for this position consists of:
- Processing and/or underwriting guaranteed loans or traditional mortgage loans (including loan origination, claims and/or servicing).; AND
- Preparing oral and written reports on lending (loan volume, servicing, etc).; AND
- Organizing and leading training or marketing efforts to external customers on matters related to mortgage or loan guarantee programs.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
