This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS).
The primary purpose of this position is Serve as the Division Director for the Federal Protective Service (FPS) Intelligence Division at the headquarters level.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory Intelligence Operations Specialist, GS-0132-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Exercises supervisory authorities over national investigative and intelligence activities and serves as a top management advisor.
Evaluates and analyzes statistics to ascertain overall staffing needs and forecast future needs.
Develops, coordinates, and implements and investigative and intelligence related strategic plans to include the agency's mission, program policies, practices, methods, and organizational structure.
Provides authoritative guidance on complex, protracted national investigative and intelligence program issues.
Coordinates investigative and intelligence requirements among organizational units in the formative stages of program initiation, project design, and project implementation.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as: This experience must include activities such as:
1) Conducting counterintelligence investigations, collections, operations, and counterintelligence functional services in accordance with the applicable laws, policies, and Departmental guidance. AND
2) Analyzing potential threats and vulnerabilities, determination of the level of risk, and development and recommendation of appropriate mitigation countermeasures in support of homeland security operations. AND
3) Interpreting specialized datasets or other intelligence regarding a target's technological capabilities and production of intelligence assessments that explain their impact.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.

Essential Personnel Position - This position may be designated as essential personnel. Training Requirement: Completion of a recognized training program such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation Intelligence Course, Sherman Kent School of Intelligence Analysis, Department of Homeland Security Basic Intelligence and Threat Analysis Course (BITAC), Mid -level Intelligence and Threat Analysis Course (MITAC) and/or be an Intelligence Community Advance Analyst Program (ICAAP) graduate or other related training that has provided the required skillset.
Pre-employment Drug Testing: This position requires a negative pre-employment drug test result prior to being appointed into this position.
TOUR of Duty: The Selectee may be required to work additional duty hours.
Travel: The selectee will be required to travel frequently.
