You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist in the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate of COMNAVSPECWARDEVGRU. This position is located in Washington D.C. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

Serves as the command lead intelligence analyst and liaison officer working with the intelligence community and host inter-agency to provide tactical and strategic support to NSWDG initiatives. Serves as a consultant and advisor on intelligence matters to assist national level staff in formulation and review of DoD policies to enable operational plans and activities. Coordinates the work of other members and establishes priorities to guide other members to ensure the delivery of products are accurate. Performs highly complex tactical and strategic assignments, leveraging strong functional expertise in all aspects of tactical intelligence support to special operations.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
  • This position may require a 2-year trial period.
  • Required to travel on civilian and military aircraft, waterborne craft, or serve at remote sites as required.
  • Must be able to swim.
  • This position requires a physical.
  • This position is covered under the Lautenberg Amendment of the Gun Control Act of 1968, due to the requirement to carry a weapon.
  • This position has been designated as Emergency Essential.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing tactical and strategic support to command/agency initiatives, including but not limited to sensitive activities; 2) Creating briefings and maintaining automated and manual data bases, estimates and analyses relative to the capabilities and actions of foreign countries to undertake military operations; 3) Serving as a consultant and adviser on intelligence matters to assist national level staff in formulation and review of DoD policies to enable operational plans and activities; and, 4) Supporting intelligence requirements for the designated portfolio to include special operations and building partnership capabilities.
