About the Position: This position is with Quality Services Division and located at Tripler Army Medical Center campus, which is on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii.
A locality rate of 21.17% has been authorized for Hawaii. A cost of living allowance has been authorized for Hawaii at the rate of 9.28% (subject to change).
This is a Term appointment NTE 2 years.
Duties
Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the hospital's credentialing and privileging program for all physician and non physician Health Care Provider's (HCP).
Maintain a Practitioner's Credentials File (PCF) for appropriate individuals entering Department of the Army, Civil Service, and contract employment.
Prepare provider profiles and enters required information concerning education, training, licensure, performance, and other pertinent required data into the hospitals Centralized Credentialing.
Prepare various reports on licensure status.
Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of the hospital's credentialing.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights
- Appointees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- This is a Term position scheduled NTE 2 years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.

Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting with preparing reports on licensure status. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05)

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes which includes 1) verifying medical credentials for preparation of privileging packets for approval and collecting documents required to grant, renew and monitor clinical privileges for Health Care Providers. 2) Maintaining credential files for physician and non-physician Health Care Providers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Health Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
