About the Position: This position is located at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
Duties
Serve as the Chief Operations and Maintenance/Facility Manager.
Direct and supervise Building Service Operations and Continuous Maintenance and Repair Program for all Bassett Army Community Hospital (BACH), and Defense Health Agency (DHA) facilities to include Dental Activity (DENTAC) and various locations.
Coordinate facilities requirements, i.e., accepting requests, evaluating urgency, planning work requirements, personnel needs, and timelines for accomplishments.
Oversee and ensure all project documents are completed and facilitates the approval process with the USACE engineers, DHA, Sustainment Restoration Modernization (SRM), DHA, and other entities before execution of the contracts.
Develop requirements for utility system maintenance and repair. Prepares construction/repair work requirements for budget purposes.
Coordinate safety related work orders with Technical Support Branch for immediate response.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require to work overtime, holidays and weekends.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Managing a construction program in support of maintaining, or repairing, or making recommendation in modifying a military facility and managing or reviewing a budget for military projects or plans or operations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
