The primary purpose of this position is to exercise second level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Military Personnel Flight functions assigned to the Force Support Squadron.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Military Personnel Flight.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Establishes, defines, and implements requirements for personnel programs to ensure operations are in line with regulatory and fiscal requirements, support goals, and mission requirements.
As the Military Personnel functional manager, works with commanders and manpower personnel on organization and position design and the principles of position management.

- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty, such as conferences, meetings, briefings, or other functions.
- The employee must obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.
- The employee must be able to obtain and maintain an AF CPI Green Belt certification.
- Emergency overtime may be required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Supervisory probation may be required.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, administrative and management positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in knowledge of the principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes, and guides of military Human Resources concepts, practices, and procedures to process transactions and records update that are a part of the HR information system sufficient to maintain data quality for the HR database. Knowledge of military programs, objectives, policies, procedures, and/or requirements in parallel business and industry organizations to comprehensive Military Human Resources programs/services. Knowledge of the principles, concepts, techniques, standards, processes, and guides of Military Personnel Management, Personnel Readiness, and ability to relate to personnel systems. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and evaluate the staff. Knowledge of AF military classification structure and procedures; retention, quality force, evaluations, assignments, promotions, and separation policies; and PERSCO policies and procedures.. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
