About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depot's enormous maintenance mission includes the repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Duties

Promote efficient and economical work operations. Plan and schedule work assignments on a 3 to 6 month basis. Determine availability of manpower for meeting deadlines of assigned projects. Assure that appropriate production reports and administrative records are maintained. Inspect automotive machining on a variety of assemblies for vehicles such as combat or tactical. Establish a good working climate to encourage employee participation in achieving management goals. Plan, coordinate, and direct a variety of related work operations or functions of subordinate employees with no subordinate supervisors.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• May require a pre-employment physical or a change in job physical.
• May be required to travel (TDY) 10% of the time for business purposes.
• Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
• A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
• Must successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position.
• Temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years and can be made permanent without further competition.
• Temporary appointment may be extended in one year increments up to a maximum of three years but cannot be made permanent.
• Temporary reassignment may be made or extended at management discretion and can be made permanent without further competition.
