Duties
You will operate a forklift to access and service marine machinery and equipment in the proper position and location.
You will assist in the repair and maintenance of marine gas and diesel inboard and outboard engines, marine crafts and boats, and trailers.
You will disassemble, assemble, and repair the simpler components and assemblies of marine machinery.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to posses and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid forklift license up to 10 tons within the first six months of employment.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain (SIMBBC) and Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) courses and applicable PQS.
- You will be required to complete Personal Qualification Standards requirements (PQS) as assigned by the Region Program Manager to include Maintenance and Material Management (3M) and Lock-out/Tagout qualifications.
- You will be required to become Facility Response team (FRT) qualified.
- Complete all standard oil spill response training as required by 29 CFR 1910.120.
