You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION) in the NMRLC Det FT Detrick, Mission Support Division of NAVMEDREADLOGCMD D FT DETRICK MD.
This announcement uses the Expansion of Direct Hire Authority Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will manage assigned systems and servers to include end user devices, virtual servers and database and web applications infrastructure.
You will serve as the subject matter expert for command technical solutions, and provide support to employees, web developers, both contractor and civilian.
You will accurately monitor, identify, and report local site problems related to Enterprise Services to Continuous Operations.
You will manage performance and administration of programs, systems, and projects to achieve needed outcomes for maintaining operations of organization needs.
Requirements

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area Intermediate level I within 12 months of appointment.
- This position requires overtime scheduled and unscheduled shift work.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Managing and maintaining hardware and software for local site servers, end user devices (EUD's) and mobile devices;
Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment;
Maintaining network architecture and infrastructure;
Maintaining all organization information systems and web applications.

In addition to the specialized experience above, all applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Applicants may qualify with the following education in lieu of the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities
necessary to do the work of the position:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.

SUCCESSFUL completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.M. if related.
