You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Air Operations Department, Ground Electronics Maintenance Division of NAVAL AIR STATION.

Duties

You will be required to collaborate with other subject matter experts to offer technical expertise on Air Traffic Control systems. You will diagnose equipment malfunction through the use of system analysis, test equipment, and schematics. You will perform technical operations verification that the system, equipment, or components are performing within designated certification parameters.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing technical airfield electronic work for compliance with regulations; 2) Troubleshooting and repairing airfield electronic equipment, air traffic control systems, radars, instrument approach systems, navigational aids, and communications systems to solve complex technical problems or improve system performance; 3) Evaluating equipment design to improve or enhance circuit and system operation; 4) Using applicable test equipment, test methods and practices as related to the Air Traffic Control equipment and systems; and 5) Maintaining inspection records required by technical orders, applicable regulations, and operating instructions. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring all air traffic control systems and related equipment are maintained in accordance with established procedures; 2) Utilizing specialized equipment to diagnose operability issues in traffic control systems and subsystems; and 3) Monitoring operating trends to detect potential problems and implement corrective actions.
