he primary purpose of this position, Nondestructive Tester Training Leader, WL-3705-13, is to train and instruct personnel engaged in nondestructive tester (NDT) specialties of X-ray, Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Laser Shearography, Thermography and Magnetic Particle inspections. Incumbent develops and conducts classroom training courses.
Duties
1. Instruct and demonstrate to technicians and perform tests in all methods listed within this position description to determine service ability of complex construction aircraft and aerospace components.
2. Set up and use correct procedures using the radiographic equipment.
3. Use fluorescent Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Magnetic Particle processes for the inspection of aircraft, engine, missile or other aerospace parts and components.
4. Use Fluorescent Penetrant and Fluorescent Penetrant processes and Thermographic or Laser Shearography equipment to perform inspection of aircraft, engine, missile, or other aerospace parts and components.
5. Use Eddy current and Ultrasonic equipment to perform inspection of Aircraft, Engine, missile and other aerospace components.

- May be required to participate in Rapid Response Team that includes movement from one product group to another and may also require different shift work.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WL-3700 Metal Processing Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability To Lead or Supervise.

Physical Demands: Prolonged standing, frequent lifting of parts and materials weighing up to 25 pounds with assistance or use of lifting devices or other workers is required. Subject to eyestrain when using black light. Both hands and good eyesight required. Work requires stooping, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing in, on, or through aircraft with equipment.
Work Environment: Works inside shop and in areas adjacent to or removed from the shop. Exposed to oils, which may cause dermatitis or allergy. Subject to possible radiation damage of body tissues. Wears radiation monitoring devices, standard safety equipment, and protective clothing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
