This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Mission Support, Director of Operational Logistics, Base Alameda, Industrial Production Facility Alameda, in Alameda, CA.
This position serves as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader, leading and performing major overhaul and/or repairs on all types of machinery and mechanical equipment aboard Coast Guard vessels and stations or used in support of Coast Guard missions.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- Applicant is required to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements:
