Duties
The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Facilities Asset Manager with responsibility for providing professional advice and technical direction for asset management business practices and systems requirements throughout the Midwest Region. The programs cover life cycle asset management activities related to the regional asset portfolio covering constructed assets in 62 park units across 13 states. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for effective management and utilization of the Region's Repair and Rehabilitation fund source. The incumbent provides direct supervision to a staff of 12 or more professionals from the following program areas: FMSS Network Staff, Housing Management, Cyclic Maintenance funds, Fleet/Equipment Replacement, and 35B utility cost recovery.
Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary in nature. Some walking, bending, and hiking may be required during field work period additional work hours may be necessary. Travel is an integral part of the work. The work requires frequent trips to Denver, Colorado and Washington, D.C. and into the parks. As an estimate 25% of the job requires the employee to travel away from the office. Employee must possess a valid state motor vehicle license, to operate motor vehicles.
Working Conditions: The work is primarily performed in an office setting. Occasional field trips to verify asset information and build facility projects are required; during field trips the employee may encounter uneven ground and unpleasant weather. Driving in all weather conditions may be required.
Qualifications

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualification by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: providing program supervision and management utilizing a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, fiscal oversight and practices in the area of facility management; Utilizes a variety of asset management and database management software programs related to repair, rehabilitation and construction for a variety of building types, state-of-the-art utility systems, complex mechanical systems, telecommunications systems, roads, general grounds maintenance, shop operations to accurately perform asset analysis and recognize deficiencies and estimate repair and rehabilitation costs. You must include years, months and hours worked per week.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-13 grade level of this announcement.
