This position will serve as a staff resource on environmental/historic preservation issues and compliance requirements to FEMA staff. Primary responsibility is to assist in implementing compliance with applicable federal environmental laws, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), and Executive Orders 11988, 11990, and 12898.

Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the IC-12 level (starting salary $82,830), you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Applying policies, law and regulations for environmental and /or historic preservation compliance, such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Clean Air Act or the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA); Coordinating with stakeholders to resolve problems regarding environmental and/or historic preservation projects; and Writing environmental and/or historic preservation compliance documents, such as standard operating procedures, guidance, consultation letters, Environmental Assessments, or Records of Environmental Consideration.
