About the Position: This position supervises law enforcement operations in the prevention, detection, and reporting of crimes; the arrest or apprehension of violators; and the provision of assistance to citizens in emergency situations.

Duties

Serves as Supervisory Police Officer and Provost Marshall Operations Officer responsible for supervising through subordinate supervisors the day-to-day operations. Reviews inspection reports and studies made by higher echelons and implements corrective action or makes authoritative recommendation to resolve areas of contention. Approves, reviews or develops implementation plans for new or changed laws, policies, and regulations affecting the Branch?s programs. Serves as a police officer on the installation with overall responsibility to maintain law and order and protect, life, property and civil rights of individuals.

Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure (Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450) and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other emergency situations, you are required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
  • Must pass a semi-annual qualification test with firearms, and observe applicable safety precautions, as required; must carry assigned duty weapon; have the capability of rationally applying the continuum of force; and use deadly force if necessary.
  • This position requires you to wear a uniform and/or protective clothing.
  • This position requires you to meet individual reliability and suitability standards prescribed by the Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program (AR 190-56 and AR 380-67).
  • Must be able to pass an annual Physical Ability Test (PAT) and perform the essential functions of the position to standards published in AR 190-56
  • Must be able to act in the capacity of a first responder to critical incidents, including but not limited to: criminal acts, natural disasters, lost or missing persons, mass casualties, and/or acts of terror or mass destruction.
  • Must be prepared to execute the lawful orders of critical incident commanders, military or civilian, assigned duties as such.
  • During non-duty hours/days, may be required to report as a member of an emergency response force during actual or simulated accident/incident.
  • Work may require flying on military aircraft.
  • Must graduate from US Army Military Police School accredited Civilian Police or Security Guard Course; unless waived, in accordance AR 190-56; within 1 year (12 months); must complete Police Officer Field Training Program within 1 year (12 months).
