Position is located at Gallup Indian Medical Center, Dietary Branch, Gallup, New Mexico. The incumbent is responsible for a wide array of tasks in the organization including the execution of all diet orders, meals, and snack orders received from the nursing units, Registered Dietitians (RD) and physicians on staff. Also responsible for oral supplements, stocking, inventory, cardex data and distribution via physician, RD, and or nursing orders. The position reports to the Supervisory Dietitian
Duties
Data collection for patients regarding the nutritional support of patients.
Obtains and maintains accurate data for patient cardex and menus.
Provides statistical information.
Completes menus and identification cards with appropriate information and instructions for patient trays.
Assists in areas of the kitchen.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):

Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen-out element. The applicants who appear to possess at least this qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated Ineligible. The eligible are then rated against the remaining questions. Your description of work experience, level of responsibility, and accomplishments will be used.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in kitchen areas where the steam and heat from the cooking and dishwashing equipment often cause uncomfortably high temperatures and humidity. The work area is well lighted but usually noisy from food service activities, and there is danger of slipping on floors where food or beverages have been dropped. Food service workers are regularly exposed to hot liquids, sharp cutting blades, hot working surfaces, and extreme temperature changes when entering walk-in refrigerators or freezing units. When working in the kitchen area there is a chance for slipping, minor cuts, bruises, burns and other mishaps.

Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
