You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the AIRFIELD OPERATIONS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION, NEW RIVER.
Duties
You will perform a full range of Planned and Corrective Maintenance work on complex geographically dispersed NAALS, communication, meteorological and other airport electronic systems and equipment.
You will complete Ground Inspections in accordance with published standards, instructions, orders, regulations and directives.
You will often work at remote sites where instantaneous independent decisions concerning when a system, subsystem or component should be continues in service, restored or removed from service.
You will assist with equipment engineers with establishing required certification standards for newly installed or modified systems.
You will perform or participate in the installation of Engineering Change Proposals, software and firmware upgrades, and makes recommendations as to the acceptability of resulting operating characteristics.
You will develop comprehensive Planned and Corrective Maintenance procedures, technical documentation, and installation drawings for systems not covered by instructions or policies.
You will modify established work methods when needed and submit modifications via feedback reports.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification within 90 days.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current airfield driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Watch Level I and II certification within 12 months. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Watch Level III certification within 12 months thereafter.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and evaluating electronic systems (landing, airport, etc.) to maintain communication systems.
