About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Strategically plan NGB IT environment in accordance with the Chief Information Office (CIO) objectives, courses of actions, and DoD directives.
Design and conduct project planning for research projects incorporating NGB equities for Domestic Operations and provides advisory services on issues in DoD forums and with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the strategic development of the Joint Information Environment and ensure equities are expressed to all stakeholders internal and external to NGB-CIO/J6 staff.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesApplying Information Technology (IT) principles, standards and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies; providing technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues; planning and policy writing for IT operations; developing and applying strategic policy, IT principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-12 or equivalent).
