The position is in the Office of the Deputy Director (DD) and the primary purpose of the position is to perform a variety of administrative and analytical duties on behalf of the Deputy Director. The incumbent provides principal support to DD. The incumbent provides key support in the areas of procurement, budget tracking, purchase card management, travel coordination, administrative support, and coordination of selected scholarly, advocacy, exhibition, and donor cultivation activities.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1001-11. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, providing key support in the areas of procurement, budget tracking, purchase card management, travel coordination, administrative support, and coordination of selected scholarly, advocacy, exhibition, and donor cultivation activities. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, providing key support in the areas of procurement, budget tracking, purchase card management, travel coordination, administrative support, and coordination of selected scholarly, advocacy, exhibition, and donor cultivation activities. Comprehensive knowledge of HR, financial, budgetary and administrative concepts, practices, laws, regulations, policies, and precedents sufficient to provide comprehensive management advisory and technical services on substantive organizational functions and work practices. Comprehensive knowledge of management and organizational principles and practices along with a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budget regulations, guidelines and process; and thorough knowledge of the Gallery’s planning, acquisition and management processes sufficient to prepare long-and short-range financial planning guidance in accordance with broad Gallery program policies and objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of and demonstrated skill in using management concepts and principles, management information systems, office systems and processes, and computer/research applications sufficient to perform assigned duties and make decisions.  "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration under merit promotion procedures.
