About the Position: Serve as Medical Insurance Technician (OA) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA), Small Market and Stand-Alone Organization (SSO), Military Treatment Facility (MTF), West Point, NY.

Duties
Assure that all medical billing processes are built around sufficient internal controls that meet generally accepted standards.
Direct daily operation for all aspects of medical billing account management assuring that billing and collection procedures comply with policies and procedures directed by higher authority.
Assure that all information required by private insurers be provided to ensure maximum reimbursement to the hospital.
Perform leader duties in the Billing and Collections section of the Uniform Business Office.
Review insurance bills and/or medical claims containing problems that could not be resolved by lower graded clerks/technicians.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes ensuring accurate billing, collecting, depositing and reporting of earnings; identifying accounts from reports requiring additional actions; and ensuring billing and collection procedures comply with policies and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
