About the Position: Brooke Army Medical Center, Hospital Education and Training, Fort Sam Houston, Bexar, Texas and Wilford Hall Abulatory Sugery Center, Graduate Education, Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland, Bexar, Texas.
Office is in the main Medical Treatment Facility of the post, in a typical of medical administrative office from 7:30AM to 4:30PM, 1 hour lunch, M-F. Work is primarily sedentary in nature with occasional walking, standing, bending or carrying of light items.
Duties
Manage and maintains the GME training data system which consists of electronic and hard copy files and which contains information regarding medical training of physicians who trained at Brooke Army Medical Center or Fitzsimons Army Medical Center.
Provides guidance on the latest policies and administrative requirements pertaining to Graduate Medical Education.
Monitors all credentials and training files for physicians-in-training and enters verified, updated documentation into the Centralized Credentials and Quality Assurance System (CCQAS).
Incumbent researches, records and prepares responses to requests for verification of intern/resident/fellow training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.

One year of specialized experience which includes developing methods and procedures for office
automation tasks. Provide administrative support for institutional and internal program reviews.
Maintain and updates access for on-line computer training for military programs. Receive, review,
and process incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and
directives. Reviews and finalizes outgoing correspondence and reports, ensuring timeliness, proper
format, grammatical and mathematical correctness, construction. This definition of specialized
experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service
(GS-05).
