THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ALLIED TRADES WORKER T32, Position Description Number PDD1220000and is part of the AZ CSMS, National Guard.

Duties

This position is located at the Combined Surface Maintenance Shop in Phoenix, Arizona. The primary purpose of this position is to assist higher graded workers in performing work in the skilled trades' occupations in support of maintenance functions. Engages in joint operations with higher graded workers. Rotates through trades areas to gain experience. THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

Requirements

• ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the CSMS.
• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
• Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
• Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
• May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
• May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours.
• Must possess and maintain a current state and military driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the AZ ARNG computer network (NIPR).

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-3/PFC-E-8/MSG Compatible Military Assignments: Possess or be able to qualify for a 12, 88, 91,92, or 94 series MOS GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months experience or training using common hand and power tools and a small variety of test and measurement devices to make mechanical repairs. Experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing a variety of parts, components, and accessories. Experience which demonstrates a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to vehicles; and skill to replace, fit, install, and make adjustments. Experience demonstrating an understanding of the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience operating various welding equipment to include wire welders, torches, stick welders, and plasma cutters to perform minor welding tasks. Experience in mobile equipment body components such as fenders, panels, hooks, and truck beds to knock out dents and creases. Experience with applying coating materials with brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Experience in simple fabrications using machinist, welding, woodworking, body work, and painting skills. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
