The position is located in the National Museum of American Diplomacy (NMAD), Office of Policy, Planning and Resources (R/PPR), Office of the Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs (R), Department of State (DoS).
Duties
Serves as Point of Contact (POC) for NMAD staff and sub-contractors/consultants for projects, ensures that all stakeholders are kept up-to-date on all relevant information; and provides timely responses to contractors, and departmental stakeholders.
Monitors and approves expenditures. Coordinates purchases of materials, artifacts, and collection pieces; Establishes a system for initiating change orders and is responsible for authorizing them promptly and overseeing their progress.
Collaborates with interpretive specialists and those specialists who articulate themes with the project team, develop outlines, facilitate discussions and write summaries, Plans and schedules for exhibits, temporary exhibits, and ongoing projects.
At the GS-12 level, the incumbent performs essentially the same duties as outlined above; however, the scope and complexity of assignments are of less responsibility and independence and receives closer supervision than the GS-13 level.

Qualifications
To Qualify at the GS-12:
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing exhibit and exhibit-related projects including oversight of the design, development, fabrication, and installation of exhibitions.
Experience representing the department in high-level meetings regarding any aspect of assigned exhibit projects, maintaining tact and diplomacy at all times.
Experience using databases and office software such as Office 365 and Google Suite product software, including Excel, Google sheets.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
To Qualify at the GS-13:
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing exhibit and exhibit-related projects including oversight of the design, development, fabrication, and installation of exhibitions.
Experience representing the department in high-level meetings regarding any aspect of assigned exhibit projects, maintaining tact and diplomacy at all times.
Experience using databases and office software such as Office 365 and Google Suite product software, including Excel, Google sheets.
Experience reviewing and editing materials produced by NMAD or exhibit sub-contractors, offering suggestions on approach, emphasis, and grammar.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
