About the position:
This is a Regular Part Time position, with a guaranteed minimum hours of 20 hours per week and will be assigned to the Eaglewood Golf Course at Langley Air Force Base, VA.
Duties
The incumbent assists the Golf Manager in the efficient operation and administration of the Golf Pro Shop and related areas including retail space, club and cart rentals, and the driving range program. Assists in the operation of the front counter in the Golf Shop. Enforces the rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course and facilities by utilizing sound
judgment. Assures patron satisfaction by resolving complaints and other customer issues in a timely manner. Assists with the
operation, maintenance, purchasing, display and control of the retail golf merchandise operation and promotes sales and excellent customer service. Ensures that quality products are ordered and stocked appropriately. Leads staff keeps golf shop neat and clean and maintains appeal by constantly changing/re-arranging fixtures and displays in an effort to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction. Promotes teamwork and assists other departments with daily operations and special events.
Supervises and directs personnel assigned to the Cart Barn. Assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinate employees. Performs full supervisory duties over assigned subordinate employees. Acts as the Facility Manager in the absence of Golf Manager, ensuring alt aspects of the golf shop operation adhere to existing branch policies, procedures and controls. Assists Manager in maintaining interdepartmental work schedules and reporting of hours. Responsible for accurate payroll processing using current payroll program. Maintains records which are required for the efficient operation of the golf shop operation, such as usage reports, purchase orders, employee data, yearly planner log, property book records and merchandise inventories. Assists in inspections and required reporting.

- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires incumbent to be at least 18 years of age.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience which provides a basic knowledge and understanding of golf course operations including the rules of golf, equipment sales and repair, tournament organization and handicapping. Must have ability to read, write, and speak English. Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this includes; (1) direct handling of cash items, and (2) use of cash accountability control methods. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Prior experience in basic supply techniques is desirable. Must be at least 18 years of age. must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
