This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy. Policy, and Plans-Center for Prevention, Programs, and Partnership. The primary purpose of this position is to provide subject matter expert to promote programs and activities in support of the Department of Homeland Security's public health informed approach to targeted violence and terrorism prevention (TVTP). Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Duties

As a Social Science Analyst, GS-0101-14, your typical work assignments may include: Conducting program evaluation for CP3 programming and develops resources to assist external stakeholders with conducting program evaluations. Serving as a researcher to support the curation of an evidence base on a public health informed approach to targeted violence and terrorism prevention. Collaborating with research and programmatic partners to help establish promising practices and learn from each other's experiences. Creating speeches, talking points, briefings, research papers, prevention content for trainings and other resources, such as technical packages. Applies master knowledge and expertise in social sciences to manage projects to enhance mission performance of DHS components, state, local and tribal governments, and public health practitioners to prevent targeted violence and terrorism. Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as. For this position, specialized experience is defined as conducting prevention research. Developing written products such as briefings, talking points, research papers, technical packages, and educational content Conducting programmatic evaluations. Developing and maintaining multi-discipline partnerships to include working with multiple liaisons and outside stakeholders. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
