This position is located in the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) in the Logistics Department under the direct supervision of the Facility Chief Logistics Officer. The incumbent will process VAPHS internal customer orders for production photocopying services and will also provide clerical and administrative support to the Logistics supervisors and employees. The incumbent may be required to work at either of the VAPHS sites, as required.
Duties
The major duties of this position include but are not limited to:
Operating a variety of equipment to perform a full range of services typical of a print shop, including offset press, copier, paper cutter, binding machine, and plate maker.
Setting up, operating, adjusting, and monitoring the operation of single or multiple function equipment such as copiers, duplicators, mail processing machines, etc.
Reviewing and processing internal customer orders for production photocopying services; ensures compliance with established guidelines.
Establishing and maintaining hard and electronic files for later retrieval and/or to ensure timeliness of actions.
Establishing priorities and advising requestor as to which process would best suit their needs and remain in the best interest of good paperwork management.
Choosing course of action to be selected from many alternatives, methods and procedures used to resolve each issue or situation based on the circumstances of each individual request.
Receiving calls, greeting visitors, screening and referring to appropriate office or staff member.
Identifying the customer's situation properly and preform task required to resolve problems within the established time-frame.
Uses office automation equipment to compose and type a variety of correspondence, reports and other material in final form, or draft format ensuring all formats are correct and in accordance with procedural guidelines.
Providing clerical and administrative support to supervisors and employees.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/18/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS 05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Answering customer inquires and providing information, providing technical advice to individuals or groups, communicating both orally and written communications with proper use of grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, composition and proper format use, use of a wide variety of software to input and retrieve and prepare data, use of automation equipment to prepare a wide range of documents, and use of computers and printers and scanners.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary in nature, but may require some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, book, and small parts.
