Duties
The Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, Program Legal Group (PLG) urgently seeks Non reimbursable detailees from other agencies to assist with finalizing the Department's planned amendments to its Title IX regulations. Specifically, the Department seeks as many as 20 non-attorney detailees, each of whom would commit to one- to three-month time period.
The Detailee will work with PLG and will assist with the Department's rulemaking process to amend its regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The Detailee will be reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing public comments received by the Department on its Notices of Proposed Rulemaking to amend its Title IX regulations and will focus on completion of the following duties:
Use expertise regarding Title IX or similar Federal civil rights laws to review the comments that the Department received on its Notices of Proposed Rulemaking.
Utilize strong research and writing skills to summarize the comments that the Department received on its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.
Requirements
- Must be a current permanent Federal employee
- Must have supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment. DHS 250-2 Application Form under "required documents" section.
- Must NOT have any pending/outstanding disciplinary actions
- Must have achieved a minimum of "meet expectations/proficiency" on latest performance appraisal/evaluation
- Must be currently at the grade level of the detail. *No Temporary Promotion Opportunity*
- The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
