Duties

THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR. Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 4 years if/when funding becomes available. The primary purpose of the PROJECT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9, is to serve as the Project Specialist, responsible for providing overarching support analysis and recommendations on one-of-a-kind and non-recurring projects/programs. Applies appropriate management analysis techniques, theories, concepts, and practices to plan, direct, and coordinate command efforts.

PROJECT SPECIALIST, GS-0301-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS-07 grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration; Experience compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information; Experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled; Experience using computer and automation systems. Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work required.
