The Office of Facilities and Maintenance Division is recruiting an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Helper to repair and modify a variety of equipment and systems that achieve regulated climatic conditions.

Duties

This position will: Assists senior level mechanics in preventive maintenance tasks and makes repairs to refrigeration and air conditioning systems, water coolers, domestic refrigerators, freezers and constant temperature installations. Assist in obtain necessary material from the storeroom; hand and run copper tubing for refrigeration or pneumatic control systems; cut holes in floors, walls, ceilings; lubricate motor and fan bearings; change filters and belts. Assist in cleaning mechanical room floors and equipment and clean job sites after completion of work for the day. Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn the refrigeration/air conditioning trade

Qualifications

There is no specific length or level of experience requirements. The applicant's overall background of experience, education and training must clearly demonstrate the ability to perform the Air Condition Equipment Mechanic Helper duties, as described in this announcement, without more than normal supervision. Applicants must meet the screen out elements and achieve an overall score of at least fifty (50%) or higher Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done.
